See that's a misconception that people have, they can't time travel, they have time travel technology.

Sorry for the short answer, I'm in crucible right now haha. Search AnonPig and find my archive, in that is "the traveler didn't pick us the vex did" and "Rasputin caused the collapse to save us" those two posts are more recent and will help your answer
