I couldn't understand your final thoughts on fusion rifles? But here's mine...Fusion rifles didn't need a nerf (this last update). It was a gun used by the minority of guardian's and the accuracy at mid range felt balanced. People don't complain about shotguns blasting them to oblivion at close range or getting their heads sniped off long range. Fusion rifle's death zone is meant to be mid range. The charge rate puts users at a disadvantage already...and fusion rifles aren't the most accurate guns when compared to shotguns and snipers. This extra range/accuracy nerf kinda left my own fusion rifle crippled. I felt a difference in my fusion rifle's accuracy right away after the nerf. The sweet spot is a lot smaller, and I don't see the fairness in that decision? Why was the nerf necessary?

They needed a range nerf for the extreme rolls. They were Fusion Snipers before 1.1.1

I'm not sure what game you were playing, but literally there was a time where I was killed repeatedly by fusion rifles at ranges that were just insane. Go back and read the update where they gave the stats on how many people were using certain weapons. They didn't even state the percentage of fusion rifle users and I can guarantee you it was because they were insanely high, embarrassingly high for a one hit kill weapon. The fusion rifle nerf was the best thing to ever happen to crucible. Like the OP, I use fusion rifles now more than ever because they act as a counter to the shotgun, which is an extremely prevalent weapon as well.

Edited by Xena: 7/17/2015 2:54:25 AMIdk which nerf you are referring to. I was and am referring to the latest nerf. And I'm at a disagreement. I never faced opponents that I felt had an unfair advantage with a fusion rifle. Like never! Mid range one hit shots are completely fair with the weapon. 1-2 seconds to charge and it takes less then a second for a shotgun wielder to go from midrange and slide into a shotgun one hit kill range. When playing Osiris I laugh at people using fusion rifles, they just aren't competitive enough to last in high stake modes like Osiris...and it shows when we play them. Fusions are at a huge disadvantage to shotguns, until I face a good amount of people willing to equip their fusions and prove me wrong I stand by what I say. Idk we'll see how the new weapon balancing update goes though.

This post is from April...

It may depend on the FR. I literally could not tell a difference on Plan C or Plug One. I actually started using them even more post-nerf because everyone switched to shotguns and they're so easy to kill.

Maybe. I don't have plan c upgraded all the way and don't have a plug one. I used to use light of the abyss all the time but i can't stand hitting them straight on after the patch and only seeing a fraction of their life deplete, yeah ain't got time for those dumb games. time to pull out the trusty shotgun.
