The dog jumped out if the car, and when the cops tried to control the dog, the dog tried to bite them. They were within their rights to kill that dog. Stop trying to be edgy.

Owner present to calm the dog? The owner was being arrested. I dont think that would calm a dog. What do you suggest the officers do to handle the dog? Gently push it away? Give it a treat? Please.

Edited by Ghost 0f Dawn: 6/21/2015 12:20:58 AMdetained. he was being detained. It's not like he was rabidly resisting arrest and trying to be violent. It's as simple as "hey, can you tell your dog to calm down" not "well you're handcuffed so I guess my only option is to shoot your dog without hesitation." It's not like the dog is thinking "oh my gosh. my owner is being arrested, murder everyone senselessly!" he merely see's people agressively handling the owner and is trying to defend him. It's not difficult to just remove force from a NON-AGGRESIVE detainee and tell him to assure his dog that everything is fine. but of course since the cops don't LIKE the guy, since their feelings dictate law it's perfectly okay to murder a dog instead of being kind and mature over a tense situation. The cops' feelings dictated what happened to that dog and it's bullshit that it is legal. I thought cops were trained to deal with tense moments? Just killing something BECAUSE it's tense is not the answer in most cases. This would easily be one of those cases MURDER is not okay.

The guy is being arrested. What do you think that means to the dog? In the dog's eyes, the owner is being attacked, and the dog wants to protect him. I'm not saying what the cops did was good, but it's justified. They didn't know what the dog would do no matter what the owner said or did.

I literally just said the solution to this comment.

And i literally just said the flaw in your solution

No... -blam!-ing desticles.

>attacked by dog >defends self >very legit

Do you want to wrestle a rottweiler?

Edited by Ghost 0f Dawn: 6/21/2015 7:32:50 PMI would prefer that to KILLING someone's pet when there are easily 5+ physically fit people that could help me subdue it. not to mention how -blam!-ing easy it would be to just let the dude loose for 2 seconds and say "hey control your dog" You people on this site have no damn problem solving skills.
-
Problem solving skills wouldn't stop a dog. And those 5 people? I see three and one will be controlling the one in cuffs. Anyone else is to far away to do anything.
-
Because the detainee is completely rabid and resisting arrest and doing everything in his power to escape and fight police. you got me.
-
Oh yeah, "just shoot the dog" because he's trying to bite them. I got bitten by a dog in the leg and it left a nasty scar. But I didn't want to shoot it!

Yes, and?

Edited by Nubbin: 6/20/2015 9:01:59 PMSure he was within his rights, doesnt make it any less of a dick move.

I never said it wasn't a dick move.

The dog jumped put of the car because it's owner was being arrested for no reason. If the guy was white, I'm sure the police would have paid him no mind.

That's a different subject
