Have you tried doing crota with the gloves seeing if sword counts as melee and you can one shot him since it's 25k a slam. I need to try it but I'm out of town. Let me know

I think once you hit r2 with a sword, the beginning of the animation stops the invisibility, so by the time the sword hits you are fully visible and thus no longer eligible for the extra damage.

Hmm maybe r1 then or same? R1 does like 18 k if I remember at 34 .

the sword does count as a melee as when doing the '30 kills with melee' bounty I go to the first dark below mission (cant remember what its called) and I get the 30 melee kills by using the sword of crota on thralls, great way to do that bounty, so yes it does count for melee.
