Earned Exotic vs. Xurned Exotic
If you walk by a hobo every day on your way to work(without talking to or acknowledging the hobo) and one day that hobo randomly revealed to be a millionaire and gave you a car would you say you earned that car?
If you saved up money from your job and waited for a local dealership to have a particular model of car you wanted and used said money from said job to purchased said car, would you say you earned it?

2 RepliesThe only guns that are earned in the game are the Exotic Bounties and Xür. Yes Xür, why? Because you go on your way and play time to manage to beat the Strikes and get your coins. Those coins you earned. So technically speaking, you've earned your guns and armor from Xür. The rest that you "Found" are found, so you got lucky with a drop. The game says it; <Insert name here> FOUND <insert exotic here> Those who says they've earned their guns not from Xür are just jealous that other players have an easier time with the direct purchase from Xür. Yes, you trolls and kids with anger issues that bitch at people who buy guns from Xür, are just jealous that you got lucky yet others got easy access. God guys, it's just a game, cool the -blam!- down. Like my boyfriend got pissed when VoG dropped Universal Remote for me as my first exotic, as for him he was farming the chests cause back then there was no limit to the drops. You have no idea how happy I was when I saw Xür was selling U.R. <3 My boyfriend got his special weapon that he loves using in game :3

I have exotics, or I got exotics. I didnt earn anything, I didnt xurn anything. I played the game for long time and now I have every exotic except the necro and the exclusives. My exotics are in my inventory or vault, thats all that matters. How they got there is irrelevant.

I agree (I think) lol. Grinding out weeklies for strange coins to buy exotics is technically earning that exotic. Strange coins are an income and I kill minions of darkness to earn that income. Now if every week you get coins for doing nothing, then I might see the other side of this argument.
