I can see Call of Duty depreciating as the story and experiences get old, even with expansions. Destiny has yet to show that it's gotten less entertaining, excluding the farming periods in it's history and it's lack-luster story. Perhaps you are right, but think about how much the new people are going to get in terms of dollars per hour. Assume that they play about the same amount of time I have played, which isn't that much compared to a lot of people, by this time next year. They would have spent nearly half as much money as I have so far for a better experience
