Cant really say Thorn was "made for Crucible" the gun was bottom line terrible until it got buffed and even then didn't become relevant until after Suros was nerfed. Otherwise I agree with what you're saying, I was actually thinking about this not too long ago.
My only gripe with pvp right now is Thorn's DoT it practically eliminates someones chance to get away if they manage to LoS(Line of sight) you so long as you hit them with enough shots the DoT will tick off and kill them. The only nerf I feel that gun heavily needs is preventing that from happening. Allow it to tick for its full duration but prevent it from actually killing you.
For the one about Lighthouse... I personally feel the majority of complaints about it come from the fact that ToO weapons are Leagues better than PoE weapons not to mention they have a guaranteed drop chance once every week from the Lighthouse chest. PvE players on the other hand are salty about 1. Having to farm Skolas multiple times per week at a small chance(Elder Ciphers appear to have better drop rates at this point) to get a primary with elemental damage and possibly have the shittiest perk in the universe "Shank Burn". 2. The PoE primaries are by far the worst and seem to be the most lazily designed in terms of perks and stats in the entire game.
Now I'm not saying PoE weapons should be better than ToO but really the incentive to work for them is pretty low due to their current status and I'd imagine most PvE players feel like they'd rather throw themselves in to PvP to actually get some worth while guns for this expac current content(Not everyone wants to revisit VoG or CE). Really at this moment in time I'm more than sure people only run Skolas for Rep and a higher chance to get an Elder Cipher otherwise hes pretty pointless.(It's not like the 35 chest at the end has great rewards either other than a ship and shader.)
To sum it all up, PvE players should focus more on getting Bungies attention on how terrible the PoE rewards are compared to everything else(apparently we got their attention on Skolas being too hard which I don't really feel his nerf was necessary or even that important). PvE players should also let the PvP players have something for once, which is amazing weapons outside of IB and something they can do to provide their own form of "Endgame challenge". Albeit the complaints may never stop because no one will ever truly be satisfied but I do feel this would at least relive some of the stress in these forums.

The only reason I said Thorn was made for crucible, is because even before the buff it got. There was absolutely no point in using it in PvE. Exotic hand cannons just arent worth being used in PvE. I mean it didnt excel in PVP either but it definitely had far more of a use in PVP than it did in PvE. As a TLW user I dont really struggle to kill anyone using the Thorn. Honestly I would rather run into a full team of people using the Thorn than a full team of people using TLW. DoT can be frustrating to deal with. But its not something that I think is so OP that is should be changed. When you played against a Thorn you kinda just have to play with the idea in mind if you get shot too many times or when you're too weak you're gonna burn out. PvE players just complain about the wrong things. They go about this totally wrong. Some where out there, there probably is some PVP player who honestly never played PoE and doesnt need the burn weapons. But what PvE kids dont understand is that not all PVP players dont play PvE. I am a mainly PVP player. But I definitely wasnt complaining when I got a Solar Jewel of Osiris, and a Void Scholar out of the chest. Honestly the complaining is probably always going to be here. I dont think its actually going to change. It'd just be nice if what they were complaining about actually made sense.

Thorn is the only Exotic I've ever really had a problem with in Crucible not even Suros could cause me to be as upset about losing a gunfight in Crucible than Thorn does, because you know you could at least corner shoot a Suros user to death with Thorn every peak around that corner is a greater chance of getting hit once by the bullet and then dying to the DoT.
