Yeah, it's kinda odd that they're the same price, yet the digital collector's version doesn't give you any of the tangible goodies. Personally, I just hope all of us who already own the game and everything can still snag the emotes, class items and shaders that are being offered with it.
Seems crazy those would be exclusive to people who are just now buying the full game for the first time (or for some, again). Hopefully they do include those items with The Taken King by itself, on top of the "VIP" items. (The least they could do is give them to people who pre-order the DLC)

Well, the way that would probably work is that you can choose to only activate the Taken King expansion and ignore the addition of the other three; the game might recognize you already have them. At least I think that's how it would work.

Right now (judging from the product page), the way it appears, is that if anyone who currently owns the game that wants those 'exclusive' digital items, will have to pay the full $70 to re-buy the game and previous expansions with Taken King. But those items should also be available for us who already own Destiny and purchase the new DLC. Basically if I want the emotes, shaders and class items, I'll have to end up paying an extra $30. (or so it seems)
