The only thing that concerns me is that it releases harmfull chemicals into the air. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Wrong. PG or VG base, water, nicotine (poison of the nightshade family), artificial flavours/colors

All g there needs to be more extensive research but governments won't do that because tax kick backs from cigarettes are so high and the last thing they want is to tell people that ecigs are a healthier alternative.

There's still a release of nicotine and the other chemicals in the liquid. You can't absorb everything but the water

It's cooking oil. It's the same as walking into a fast food place.
