If the gun has +attack perks (pre Expansion II weapon), it will not ascend directly to 365 - you will have to max the weapon to attain 365 attack. Regardless of the weapon, any perks not yet leveled up, will not be unlocked by the ascension. You will still have to gain experience with the weapon.
