With a name like no back up plans you should be able to instantly chain melee attacks. That would be worth the exotic slot. If they cancelled the animation cool down so you could melee twice or even 3 times instantly. This is a Titian's dream. "Stone Hands" from [i]River City Ransom[/i] FTW.
