I prefer biological definitions. Male or female. Yes hemaphrodites happen.
Now as for this whole trans thing, I think some men are feminine, others are masculine, some women are feminine, others are masculine and some are in between for both sexes. Maybe a person feels they relate more to the opposite gender/sex,
these are the same to me, I'm aware of the movement to redefine gender, I don't recognize it
or they don't fit societies idea of what they were born as. But that does not change what they are.
The real issue is removing stereotypes in a society where everyone is encouraged to be themselves, not encouraging people to change themselves to fit a different stereotype they think they might identify with better.

The question is, would removing stereotypes remove the gay community? Would removing media coverage and persuasion of certain ideals mean people wouldn't feel that way? What I'm saying is, is it the media that started the gay movement instead of people who are actually gay?
-
People who are actually gay sought publicity from the media to make their issue known.
-
Unless the media created it like I implied in the original post.
-
Media didn't create homosexuality.
-
We can't really prove that can we? Especially considering there is no "gay gene" that has been heavily searched for. If anything it is a more favored explanation.
-
Yes we can. Homosexuals existed before media. TA DA! There has been observed biological differences between a gay persons brain and a straight persons brain. They are biologically different. The cause is still being investigated, but most studies point to gestational development. But its certainly not fake, or a choice.

Edited by FlammNation: 6/5/2015 1:49:46 AMWe have also discovered that murderers have different brain structures than normal people. Did they not choose to murder?

Indeed i was actually thinking through this process after i posted the OG it is hard to separate roles and identity but again that goes back to the essence of what it means to be a male or female a person can only use the excuse "born this way" when justifying physical traits present at birth. if one were to be cut off from societal stereotypes and cultural influence what kind of identity would they develop? unfortunately we cannot test this "ethically" and controlling their learning to be gender neutral and seeing how they develop most can theorize it will not have a gender identity therefore it will not have the cultural influences to understand what gender is. however i am very pragmatic and would like to test and observe things in real time because "theorycrafting" gets old after awhile
