The biggest things that turned me away from Splatoon were the controls, which required you to move a hunk of plastic to aim, and the lack of variety period, which people say still persists even after the testfire. 2 modes, really? Also, "C'mon!" and "Booyah!" isn't enough to tell your team "Hey guys, we need to cover this area!" or "Help, I'm surrounded!". I might buy it if it goes on sale for $30 or $40, or if it gets more modes and good local co-op (popping balloons does not sound like fun), but for now, I'll stick with other games. At least CoD has a good amount of content and replayability. Also, F*CK AMIBOS.

  • You do know you can turn the motion controls off. You are only forced to have it in the tutorial, after that. You can turn it off. But people do like it. So. Yeah.

  • Try turning the sensitivity way down while using motion controls. Worked for me. Loving the game...

Thanks for the advice. I'm planning on getting it around Christmas, when there will be more content and the game will probably be on sale.

  • You can turn off motion controls, but there won't be aim assist

  • Motion controls in other shooter games would be like h3ll, but it oddly works with splatoon...

  • Black Ops 2 did it pretty well with the wiimote and nunchuck

  • F*CK AMIIBOS INDEED. I didn't buy any of them, never will. I think people can tell by "C'mon" that it means to come. "Booyah" is generally used when there are enemies in the area. While there should be an option to turn voice chat On/Off, those are enough communication options (For now).

What about the lack of content?

I said this with Destiny, and I'm gonna say it again. New content and updates later does not make up for lack of content at release. I'm happy they made it free, but I'm not buying it right now with how little content there is, in no way justifying a $60 price tag at release.

  • Well at least they aren't making it be released every 4-5 months. They release it every week. And yes, they cut content from launch to add it later, but that was to keep the game fresh. It was a marketing strategy, and the gamer is happy.

I understand it's to increase replay value, but I'm still not buying it till it gets a lot more content or goes on sale.
