These keys are useless anyways, they only serve one propose, which is to allow you to complete your PoE Level 35 exotic bounties. Aside from that, who really needs to sweat for a key to open a chest in order to get a crappy pink weapon? I don't.
If it guaranteed a exotic item it would worth the trouble, but since it doesn't and I haven't seen a single exotic dropping from it since day 2 it's just easier to completely ignore the central chest existence.

The big PoE chest does drop exotics. I've gotten 2 ice breakers and 1 dragons breath.

I guess I'm out of exotic luck, I only got exotics on the first chest I've opened for each of my characters on HoW release day. Since then all I get are silly pink weapons.

Yea, but that silly pink scout rifle Hygiea Noblesse is pretty badass with explosive rounds.

It's Kinetic, so I would say it's half-badass, I think there are far better weapons around. Kinect weapon for kinect weapon just buy one at a faction with good specs and reforge it to your hearts content until you get the perks you want. Not that I hate those weapons or have anything against pink, I just think they aren't special enough to worth the necessary grind involved. It's too much trouble for something that has a 99.9% chance of becoming another mote of light on my inventory. So far the only Pink weapon I've kept is the Wolfs Bane or something like that, and only because it's rate of fire and impact seem perfect for a PvP machine gun, otherwise it would be gone too.

The ether chests have engrams. Usually rare, sometimes legendary. I want my engrams.
