OMG you cry so hard, here is how to get guaranteed etheric light and 34.
Upgrade an exotic to max level and ascend it with exotic shard
do prison on 32 then get a piece of armor
Do prison on a second character the next week get a second piece of armor
Do prison on 34 and get etheric light guaranteed
Congrats you are now 34
This is easier than the last expansion
