Bungie doesn't discuss or remove bans for any reason, I'm sorry.

I would like to disagree, however, I have no proof of bans removed from anyone on Destiny. This is probably because I haven't seen anyone banned from Destiny so far.

People can have account restrictions rather than bans which are temporary. Making it seem like the bans were repealed, but in actuality their account restriction ended.

I would gladly take an account restriction over my ban. At least this would have thought me to not let anyone play for me. I originally saw ToO as something fun (even though it's not for me), but now it's the worse nightmare that even happen in Destiny. I truly regrets for going after that auto rifle and chest pieces ( -_-)

Your account may be restricted, if you could provide a screen shot of what the message you get I might be able to tell you if it's a ban.

Not sure how to generate a link for my screenshot (current save on my phone). But when I try to login to access the screen to choose my chars, I get the following message: "NOT SO FAST! This account has been banned. For more information, please go to bungie.net/ban"

That sounds like an actual ban, not an account restriction. But I've been wrong before. I'd check every so often to see it will let you log in. Other than that I can't help you. Sorry.

I have a friend on my friends list who was temporarily unallowed to participate in Trials of Osiris this weekend; however, I did not play with this friend at all last weekend.

Even if you did, it wouldn't warrant a ban. Bungie is cracking down on Trials of Osiris cheaters, but there have been many reports of false bannings since then. So honestly I can't say what happened to you.

Judging by bungie.net/ban you friend was able to still access the PvE world but not trials. For me, I just can't login period. I'm so jealous of your friend hehe
