Apparently you need to be in the top 3 of the leaderboard in that game. Passage coins also drop randomly in crucible games.

No. They'll drop as soon as the game ends before the rewards screen pops up.

The passage coins you get from doing the daily drop once you lose or win your daily but the RNG passage coins drop at the rewards screen.

I've also seen people who aren't top 3 get Passage Coins. Being top 3 isn't a requirement.

I really don't understand what you're saying. You get them from the daily the first time, and randomly from games regardless of leaderboard position. What are you trying to say?

The daily [i]may[/i] require you to come into the top 3 leaderboards of that game to earn your coins. Passage coins can also drop randomly in any crucible game despite leaderboard position.

Ah, I get it now. I get the coins every time from my first daily game so I guess I'm just lucky.
