Hardly. The U.S. Can afford this shit. Greece wasn't rolling in cash. I'm pretty sure the us has so much cash it could go communist and still function.
-
In the hole to the tune of over 17 trillion and ^this^ guy says we're rolling in cash. The stupidity is astounding.
-
Not rolling in cash, but functional enough. Almost all countries are in some sort of debt to one another. I don't think there's a country that has 0 debt. But you would have less debt if the richest people in the U.S. paid more taxes.
-
Same tired line from those that want others to take care of them. When you people learn that nothing in this world is free and you go out and earn for yourself, then we'll all live better lives.
-
There's a difference between wanting help and wanting people to do things for them. America is reaching the point where it's as backwards as Russia was pre communism in comparison the the rest of the developed world. You cling on to old fashioned ways of life and traditions and beliefs that the rest of the world have long abandoned. Guns are no longer necessary. Free healthcare is a staple in all other first world countries. Religion plays no part in politics. Homosexuality is accepted (take for example Ireland that just amended its catholic constitution to allow gays when the strictly non religiously based america is still acting like its a bad thing), and assistance is given to those who need it. Racism is almost totally gone elsewhere. At least to the extent where children and innocent people aren't killed for no reason on an apparent monthly basis. How does it benefit the country to have the majority of money given to only those at the top? If those at the top paid proper taxes, there would be almost no debt and the country would function properly. The difference in wages is so extreme that the head of a corporation could easily skip a paycheck and that paycheck could in turn not only pay all of the janitors in the company, but would give them a pay boost. If the UK went after the big business in its borders, they would have all of their national debt paid off in an instant. As of right now those companies have avoided paying proper taxes. The day you can look a child in the eye and say "daddy didn't survive a curable cancer because he didn't want to force you into debt for the rest of your life" is the day you can say the system is functioning well. And it's the same day you become a monster.

Spin it how you want to Boss. There are some things in this world that will never change. Earning what you need in life is something that no matter how much you want to cry and whine about, it will never change. Human nature is what it is. You want to cure poverty by throwing a bunch of money at it, which hasn't worked and will never work because of human nature. I'd rather teach people how to take care of themselves rather than do it for them. THAT is a time honored and proven method.

What on earth is right about people working full time as much as they can and still being below the poverty line? There's nothing more they can do and they suffer. So raising the minimum wage to a wage that allows them to function allows them to do as you say and earn what they need to survive As for healthcare, why do you have to 'earn' the right to breathe? Because that's what you are suggesting. You suggest that those that are more fortunate to be born to a rich family or were lucky enough to get a high paying job have more right to live than those that can't earn enough to pay the extreme fees? All people have the right to breathe and live. Saying that you don't think america needs equal, free healthcare is suggesting some people have more right to live than others. People die from easily curable diseases simply because they can't afford the fees or because they don't want to put their kids in debt due to them. Then there's the issue of guns. Why do you need guns? Every other first world country doesn't have them. They're fine. The UK has almost no gun crime. It's so rare it's practically unheard of. The original purpose of American guns was to stop an evil government. Even if you wanted to now you couldn't. And you don't need them for self defence. Even if Mexico and Canada both decided to attack you at once, you'd be able to easily hold them off with your military, or you would if you stopped entering wars. Either way, civilians with guns only cause more casualties.
-
I'm not suggesting that you have to earn your way through life, I'm saying that's exactly what you have to do. The right to live has to be fought for and then maintained. That requires effort. I don't deny that some have it easier than others, but I don't begrudge those people what they have. Liberalism is a nice thought if humans were innately good, but we're not. You think that you have a right to take from those who have more and pass it out to those that you deem need it more. That's stealing and there's no other correct way of describing it. If I want to, and I have, give to a family or cause that needs my help, then I have the right to choose whether I will or won't. You coming and taking it from me and then handing it out isn't generosity, it's theft. I'm not even going to acknowledge your ignorance on the gun issue.
-
If people were able to live on current wages and were able to pay medical fees on current wages, you would have a point. You don't though. Because your entire argument rests on the idea that people can properly live on current wages. Please do tell me about my ignorance on guns. Because all that I say is true. America is the only first world country that is convinced it will be massacred if it gets rid of its guns. That is a genuine argument against gun control. The day school shootings are as common in the UK, or in Germany, then you can say huh control has no positive effects Your views are very narrow minded and overly capitalist. Pure capitalism only benefits the top percentage of people. The U.S. needs to develop and realise the conceited and outdated views on equality and society need to improve. America is the ONLY major first world country without proper gun control, healthcare or benefits and wages. You're the laughing stock of the first world. You massacre each other and then say the danger is in the Middle East. You need to deal with yourselves before you deal with foreign countries.
-
Whatever you want to think Boss you go right ahead. I'm done conversing with someone who believes it's a good thing to steal.
-
And i'm done conversing with someone who thinks its a good thing to murder.
-
because what we're doing now is going so well, right?
-
Greece. Being in total debt to capitalist Germany of hundreds of billions of dollars. Having a smaller economy than L.A. I'm pretty sure doesn't help. Then they centralize all the banks to pay off just the first payment of its debt. They are projected to go bankrupt. Not good at all when a country goes bankrupt.
-
good thing the us isn't going bankrupt then.
