Dark Souls: Help! Did I screw up???
Let me start by saying, I'm brand spanking new to Dark Souls. I've heard about how it's a difficult, unforgiving game. Even deceptive at times.
I have a controller like it recommends (On PC).
I just got out of the starting area. I rested at the bonfire I got dropped off at. And I talked to a guy who told me I need to ring 2 bells and something happens... (No Spoilers Please).
My idiotic self decided it would be a good idea to murder the guy because he talked very creepily.
Turns out, he has a shit-ton of health and hits like a truck. When he kills me, I respawn at the bonfire but he's standing there waiting to fight and attacks once my character stands up. I've tried running away but he chases me... I've even tried quitting and loading but he still wants to kill me.
Basically, did I screw up and unless I can kill him, I'm going to need to make a new character???
UPDATE: He has been successfully lured off a cliff! Thanks for the help everyone!

Just start a new game, or completely avoid him and get some of the best gear and kick his ass. Try tongue fatty but hole.

Your not to far into it but if you got the skeleton key you can easily fix it

I did the exact same thing. I found it easier to just start a new game

Parry him and Riposte or Backstab fish him

He isnt hard to kill i usaly show hom my sword right away because y not he isnt important and free souls

At least you had a motive, almost all of the npc's I've had to kill went nuts after i accidently hit them

No. You can pretty much kill anyone and everyone. Sure it will make certain things more. Difficult in the future. Or more likely. Miss out on story dialogue. But do not worry. Even I you kill an npc that's suppose to give you a super important item for later. They will drop that item for you on their corpse. Or it's an item you can get elsewhere. Point is don't fear if you kill npc. As far as I remember. There is only 1 soft lock in dark souls. And that's in an area called the painted world.

3 RepliesWell it seems you solved the problem, but if it happens again, go to the top of the Undead Parish after you kill the Gargoyles, and talk to the priest there and ask for forgiveness. Then any NPC you pissed of will forget about it.

If you take off running in the direction you're going, you should outrun him no problem. Then once you clear the first bell, pay to have your sin abolished by the guy in the tower.

A bit later u can absolve ur sin. Meaning your aggro to npcs. I would just restart. It will be a drop in a bucket to redo the beginning. Ur gonna want that bonfire. Dont attack npcs u dont get anything u wont eventualky get by talking to them. Exept. A certain dude in gold armour that -blam!-s u. Hes gard to kill to tho

If you are at the very beginning of the game, I would suggest just restarting if he's that much trouble.
