Dude, if you got counter sniped by thorn, you're sniping wrong. I kill snipers all the time with scouts, but with thorn? You've got to be on a terrible spot for that to happen...

I was across the map on burning shrine and no one could even shoot me from anywhere but directly ahead and I see a warlock look at me and I go into cover and boom I'm dead. Deadbox said thorn. Didn't even get the burn. Just one shotted my maxed out eternal warrior like it was wet paper.

Smells like lag to me, guy must have taken a few shots and you got the damage all at once. Either that, or someone else was shooting you and he just put the last nail... That said, thorn can easily cover all distances (except from the outer sector from A to C door) in burning shrine if you have send it selected, so might be possible...
