I am a Christian. I believe in God. I believe that he created evolution. There are to many circumstances within my life that have happened for me not to belief. God loves us all, whether we believe or do not.
I do not understand atheism. Why believe in nothing? It makes no sense what so ever that the universe exploded into being. It takes just as much faith to believe in nothing, as does to believe in God. The world be a better place if all were to believe in God.
However everyone has a right to choose and I do not think you are stupid or ignorant for being atheist or non believer. I do urge that you go to a church a couple times if you have not tho. It might change your life.
One last thing. A true Christian man is very hard to be but it is what I strive to be. Following the Ten Commandments is no easy thing. Besides murder and theft. In our world today you see sex ideology everywhere and people are way to concerned about what they want to make themselves feel better about themselves or make them a more important person. When in reality, we need to be trying to "be" better people. Try to become better beings. And to treat each other with respect and kindness.

I think people can strive to be good people without believing in a cosmic arbiter. I do think everyone should have a center. And I'm glad you have found yours and it encourages you to be a good person rather than deeming everyone who doesn't ascribe to your beliefs as bad people. Groups like Westboro Baptist give Christians a bad name. But with any group that one considers 'other', they fail as a group and succeed as individuals; the idea that a hateful, closed-minded Christian is typical and kind-hearted, loving Christian is the exception that proves the rule. It's unfortunate. I think people see "Christian" hate-groups as representatives of the community as a whole. When they are no more "Christian" than Middle Eastern terrorists are "Muslim." Their actions directly contradict the beliefs the claim to hold.
I think people see "Christian" hate-groups as representatives of the community as a whole.
That is not unique to religion, any label with religion/politics/race/etc is judged by the minority and extremist. The negatives are easier to remember and are usually indirectly glorified by media.
When they are no more "Christian" than Middle Eastern terrorists are "Muslim." Their actions directly contradict the beliefs the claim to hold.
You are in no place to judge who is a real christian or muslim. Extremist interpret the Bible or Qur'an just like anyone else and there is no right way to interpret them.

Also, believing that there is 1 right interpretation of holy texts is a big reason why extremist groups exist in the first place. Thank you. Your comment honestly made me consider some things I never have before.

Correct and I'm glad I have, in my opinion the key to finding "your belief" is to keep asking questions until you find your answers, and as everyone else has said as of now you sound agnostic.

Edited by TheGreatBaboo: 5/18/2015 1:08:43 PMYou have a point. It's not my place to define someone else's belief. I honestly hadn't realized that's what I was doing. But being a Christian, according to their own holy text, is about accepting Jesus as a savior and his word as the word of their God. And according to their holy text, their savior says "Above all, love each other deeply." Can one do that while thriving on hate?

The is there whole Bible to interpret, there are many parts of it you can pick a part and get a different meaning from it.
