There are chests that spawn in 4-5 different locations for each event. Scroll through the threads on here and you can find the maps for each location. Loot farming at its best!

Better than both. You'll almost always get an engram and special or heavy synths (you'll despise the synths soon enough). And if your lucky you'll get a legendary engram or a treasure key for prison of elders.
