I know Christians that are close minded, and I know atheists that are close minded. What I find most frustrating about this issue is that both sides bring it to this forum with the same old "I'm right, you're wrong, I'm not a close minded, low IQ troglodyte like you are." posts. Whether you agree or not, your post is just another example of this. These posts aren't constructive in any way. In fact they are nothing, but divisive. Instead of creating a platform for constructive dialogue between people of differing world views, they inevitably descend into name calling chaos.

I agree, but do you really expect constructive world view debates on a video game forum? I stated some issues that bother me personally. I wasn't necessarily posting for a long constructive debate.

Do you think constructive debate is possible here? Whether intended or not, these type of threads always turn into an ugly mess. Debate implies an ordered discourse, which never happens when someone posts about atheism or religion. These type of discussions are better left for the real world, where the keyboard warriors don't have the spine to say half the crap to your face that they do in here.

But overall the forums are just something to pass the time and topics like these interest me.

That's the catch 22 though, these forums are open to the public which means any troll has the ability to poison the well for their own amusement. Constructive debate is possible, but almost never when atheism and religion are the topic.

I understand that and again my post wasn't necessarily for a well thought out debate it was a few things that bother me.

I get that, but you need to accept or at the very least understand that these type of threads generally end up causing more arguments than they resolve. People behind a keyboard don't have as much inclination to participate in civil discourse as they do talking to you face to face. You have every right to post this type of thread, just don't have high expectations of the responses.
