If you nerf thorn we will have the same conversation about tlw, nerf that and we're talking about red death, then mythoclast. Etc etc. The way this game works there will always be a best gun. In halo you start with a dmr and have to actually fight over the weapons on the map.

It's just the range that kills me.. I'm forced to using either thorn or last word so I can even compete with the half second time to kill in crucible.

Edited by Synge_X: 6/6/2015 7:34:35 PMMost people have it completely wrong when it comes to why the Thorn is overpowered. It's not overpowered because of the dot or the range. It's all in the "caliber" bullets. in effort to make Thorn cool, they made the bullets, large thorns. The size of these bullets wreak havoc on the games natural lag compensation, auto aim, and the size of most maps. Most people that don't know how to use the thorn try to use it like other weapons. The way to truly destroy with the Thorn is to simply push the analog stick slightly upward and spam the trigger while rolling the movement analog stick in a quick circular motion. This makes you bounce left and right much faster. Don't aim! Just tilt/aim up, dance left and right and spam. Both the good and bad news is, most dedicated Thorn users are complete retards... If someone is wrecking you With Thorn, do not engage them. Simply notice where they're camping spot is, as they will never move. I could do a breakdown of all the common thorn camping spots but it would take a long time... Once you have identified them, move around the map, close the gap, and flank their position with a shotgun. They will be extremely fixated on the method that I have described here as it has provided so many free kills in the past, that they won't even see you coming. Thorn is an extremely easy weapon to use but it doesn't need a Nerf, your strategy and understanding of the weapon and your opponent needs a buff. However, I completely understand your grievance. I think that the weapon is cheap, for PVE scrubs who need a leg up, and children, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't have a place in the game. If they were going to nerf it, The easiest most fair fix would be to reduce the size of the caliber rounds.

Thorns largers bullets are just cosmetic...

They they shouldn't nerf it, they should just make it more challenging to use. Reduce the mag size, then Remove hammer forged and replace it with speed reload

Edited by Shadow_Legion: 5/22/2015 7:10:45 AMThorn used to have 6 rounds and reload as slow as molasses. The only buff they did was give it 3 bullets and a decent reload speed. What has pushed thorn and hand cannons to top tier is the death of auto rifles and unreliability of fusion rifles.

they tripled the base stability

I used it back when everyone was screaming to buff it because it was "impossible to compete in crucible with"
