I don't get why people keep saying things would "break the game." What is this supposed to mean? Like actually break the game? Or just provide the opportunity for some players to be so "overpowered" that they have no issues? I don't understand

I think your latter point is what they are driving at. They feel your would be so "OP" that the game would cease to be fun or challenging. I don't agree. The exotics don't do anymore damage than legendary gear. The only truly noticeable difference is some of the perks. Maybe we would have more grenades, maybe we'd throw more nova bombs, maybe our Golden Gun would have 1 more shot. I don't think there's any combination of perks that would make you a walking God. I love my Mida, but it has no perks on it that when combined with something else would make me truly unstoppable. Even Gjallarhorn. Pair that up with Ice Breaker and Vex, why is that game breaking?

I'm with ya 100%. I'd enjoy a game mode that's challenging enough that we would be able to use full exotics without making it "too easy." After seeing the Prison of Elders clips, that would be a good place to implement full exotics capability, but Destiny devs don't agree with me, I'm sure lol

I just don't think there's anything about the idea that would make things "too easy." I mean, what combination of perks would make the game fall apart? None that I can think of.

Yeah, if things like warlock self res and Titan bubble shields hadn't been implemented from the start, people would believe those to be capable of "breaking the game" as well. Possibly, the idea of exotics is supposed to be specialized for specific situations, so allowing guardians to equip multiple exotics at once allows them to be prepared for a plethora of situations. I think that may be why in PoE, they have breaks between separate rounds because there are different objectives for each round, giving guardians a chance to switch their gear for the task at hand. Regardless, I'd rather be able to equip all the exotic gear I've acquired and use the exotic weapons I've bought and found in chests, etc.

I agree that part of the reason was probably to make players think about their objectives strategically. I just don't think the available perks, when stacked, would make you a God.
