bungie by accident put an area block that u have to be in to be able to progress. i believe once you are past the small bridge and go up you are out of area. as long as one person is down there Rambo style the others can go snipe but if the ground Guardian dies he has to be revived before all enemies are killed or the whole fight resets and u have to do it all over again.
as for crota just go back to orbit and back. that usually fixes it.

I did see a post about where people went to the left to camp in the ship, and that is not what we did, I've never gone over there for this as a strike or nightfall! I do have pictures of Crota where we had 2 swords, Crota is just glitchy as all hell.
