No perfect timing required, shoot it within the first few seconds it spawns and if you take longer on the next ones glass half full comes into play and so does reactive reload when you run out, it's what the gun was made for, not rocket science.

So I have 1 or 2 seconds to kill the Oracle before it's a 2 shot kill. I'd say that's the exact definition of perfect timing. You keep the fusion. I'll actually help kill atheon with a useful secondary and thrash oracles with CM.
