QUESTION for my Fellow DAY 1 PLAYERS: HOW LONG BEFORE YOU WENT ON YOUR FIRST RAID?
How long did it take you to go on your first raid?
For me, it was 3 months. I didn't do any raid content until after The Dark Below, and then it was Crota before Vault of Glass (got Thunderlord and the Black Hammer). I had just joined a clan for the first time. Running around in the dark, completely lost, following the icons of other players' names and not having the first clue what was going on.
So I wonder, are there other Day 1 guys like me, who just took it slow and maybe even now don't have a lot of raid experience?

2 RepliesI didn't attempt the vault until like, 3 weeks before the dark below came out. Not really sure why, but there ha have it lol

I didn't do VoG until mid January and didn't do Crota until a week later. I quit Destiny from mid November until Jan when my friend and I decided that VoG sounded like fun. I've been hooked ever since.

Wasn't able to raid till January. Problems at work took all of my time.

I believe I beat it for the first time in the 2nd or 3rd week. Was lvl 25 when it launched and didn't have a group yet during the first week. Lol, took us 9 hours the first time we beat it, iirc.

I had a couple ppl that actually played back then but only me and 1 friend were good enough to carry the team. It was a while till we beat atheon on hard by recruiting randoms from the tower who I still play with today.

I was fortunate to have a core group of former MLG friends to Raid with. After 50 Aetheon clears I felt I had accomplished what I needed from the Vault. Scrota, well that's another story.

I had (still have) a core group of friends in real life that I play with. So, I took on the Vault the first night it was released. Got spanked so hard by Oracles...and Gorgons...and nd Atheon. Took on Crotas End the same night it launched...-blam!- it up to Crota.

HELP A GUARDIAN OUT. (BouncyRaincloud) I have a friend that is on Xbox 360 lvl 29, and hasn't done any raiding because he doesn't have anyone to raid with. If you are experienced and want to help him out, add him at: BouncyRaincloud with a message saying Destiny-Vault of Glass. PS: I'm on PS4-lvl 32 on all characters. If anyone needs help with raiding on PS4 add: Toxic_Madface I'll carry anyone thru the raids.

Didn't do a full vog run until a few days after TDB was released.

3 weeks after it opened maybe? Didn't have any friends/clan playing back then and I didn't know if I wanted to join the random groups formulating on the app. Finally joined a random group and joined a clan shortly thereafter.

Did vog the first day it was avaible. Same for hard mode, and normal crota, and hard crota.

Did my first raid Christmas Day. Got it done just before the lizard squad attack too

Same as you. Day one player and didn't start raiding til Crota. Prefer VoG.

I beat VoG day 2 back when it was actually difficult due very few players have good legendaries and even fewer with exotics

I didn't go after Atheon until about a month in. Got vision of confluence first time...

I quit destiny in December because I had no friends who played so I was stuck @ lvl28 then I started watching Goth & Broman around March and found out about ranking for vanguard gear to do raids and now I have 3 lvl 32's

I rushed raids, I did Vog when my first character was 24

I waited til my characters were both 29 (only had 2 back then) before I really started getting into it. Just grinded dailies for shards, did Iron Banner for level 30 gear, and did nightfalls. Didn't start clearing it with any success until about a month and a half before Dark Below.

Those who haven't raided, is that choice, or lack of participants.

I remember having at it with a group of guys that I played with regularly. It was before everyone had a million walkthroughs so naturally we were totally lost and took us a bit to figure out... but the whole experience was awesome. That sense of awe and wonder, and actually opening the vault... woah.
