Before I got gjallarhorn, I was using hunger of crota. before I got hunger of crota, I was using some random legendary rocket launcher. The only time I've ever had problems in raids, or even strikes is when people don't know what they are doing. (unless the game is glitching or has bugs) As long as your of the light level of the activity, you should be able to clear it unless you suck or the game is buggy/glitchy BTW, I have gjallarhorn

I have a gally. I only use it for nightfalls. And only of its solar burn. Yeah it hits hard, but id rather have my deviant gravity with 115 rounds rather than 7 rockets.

No Hawkmoon / 4th Horseman / Monte Carlo = Kicked. That's always been my policy. True elites don't play with those scrubs. Once you've shown one of those guns and proven you're not a bottom tier scrub, you can use whatever guns you'd like :)

I have gally... yet I feel like my Super Good Advice and Ruin Wings may be a better options. Rockets can be risky with too many rushing enemies. Not to mention you may not have time to pop a heavy ammo synth during the chaos. Oh and if you think gally makes you good, then you must be a crappy gamer. You don't have to be skilled to get a gally... douchy post bro.

At this point not just gally, but a lot of other weapons too. I can understand players getting the shake down, but make sure they're skilled too. Since it's a three man fire team people should have more than enough friends to play with.
