I have to say it makes me wonder how many parts of the game will be included in the future. What happens when Destiny 2 comes out? Is all the stuff we've paid for going to be free? Kinda makes we want to wait for the final release rather than grinding it out piecemeal.

They're not giving everyone the entire DLC; just the 3 Crucible maps. If anyone ever wants to play the exclusive Raid, Story mission, Strikes, or get their hands on any of the new Exotics or Raid gears, they'd have to actually buy the DLC. It's like the new social space in the Reef, the Vestian Outpost; everyone will have access to this regardless of whether or not they purchase the next DLC, but if they actually want access to the new Queen's Wrath faction, the Prison of Elders, any of the Story missions or Strike that are connected to this new social space, they're going to have to actually buy House of Wolves.
