I wouldn't call it impressive, but I take great pride in the fact that during high school I served on the student council alongside my principal and staff members for 3 years and together managed to really bring about significant, positive changes to the school like twice as large a budget, a counselor, and an extra computer lab. I also won Student of the Year at graduation and a few other rewards from my teacher and principal. The irony however is that I was extraordinarily unpopular and unknown by most of the student body, and didn't even attend graduation due to a flu. Regardless, it gave me a taste of positive politics--actually being able to make a positive change. And I hope to continue this throughout college as I begin my freshman year and try to get into the council.

Edited by The Deputy: 5/1/2015 6:25:55 PMDude Student Council actually does things? I'm not involved in my school but it seems like all our council does is perform scheduled surveys and put on plays/musicals/etc.
