The Grimoire card, "The Vex" says that the Vex have made "complex structures thought to be buried within every celestial body." In fact, the only places we don't seem to find any evidence of the Vex are on Earth and the Moon. The card "Ghost Fragment: Human" mentions that the Traveler was active on Mars, Jupiter, Mercury, and Venus before humans made contact with it. Has anyone found evidence that the Traveler may have been specifically going to Vex structures before we made contact? Or since the places we don't find Vex structures are also the only places we find the Hive, is it possible the Hive are interfering with the Vex, by digging out Vex structures or maybe warding off the Vex through time somehow?

My theory is that the traveler created the vex. The traveler made them to assist in terraforming the planets, to help building their structures. If you look a vex weaponry, they almost all double as tools. The vex were originally dependent on the traveler for power and instructions, but they were corrupted and enslaved by the darkness. This would also explain why the vex don't just go back in time and colonize earth before humans existed, as the traveler has the power to somewhat limit vex time travel abilities.

The Vex worship the darkness The darkness follows the traveler A common theory is the darkness created the Vex as its followers for all of time. They were made into machines so they may live forever and their purpose is to praise the darkness who is trying to take over the universe by killing the light. The traveller maybe actually be the vassal of the Darkness to trick humanity and bend it to its will (hence the black garden birth place of darkness is thought to be at its core) hence why the Vex follow its path
