If victims of sexual assault agree that it's offensive, I don't see the problem with having it taken down.

Kek You really need to step back and reprioritize things gurllllll
-
I find your bleeding heart finding everything offensive, offensive.
-
Oh I'm so sorry that I stand up for -blam!- victims. Let me just go drink out of a toilet or something.
-
You're not standing up for -blam!- victims. You're being overly sensitive about a product slogan.
-
-
I bet you think you're really clever. So does the rapist, as they are very uncommonly reported.
-
Edited by Smarkdow: 4/29/2015 3:13:06 AMI don't think I'm clever. Quite frankly, I'm insulted that you would liken my supposed "cleverness" with that of a rapist, implying that I'm no different from those animals. You know, you've been nothing but insulting and condescending towards others. I suggest you lighten up on the attitude. And before you trot out your buzzwords, this has nothing to do with privilege or anything like that. It has everything to do with being a decent human being. Start acting like one. You're welcome.

Here's an overview: -I stood up for -blam!- victims that were insulted by this. -You came in saying that I was whining. -I compared how you must feel to the feeling of success and domination a rapist feels when they know they aren't reported. P.S. Why make rapists out to be barbaric creatures when you're supporting them?
-
You stood up for -blam!- victims? Where? When? By being a dunce on b.net?

Read my reply.

I posted a picture with a caption. A caption that contains a quote from Stephen Fry. A quote I happen to agree with. My sympathies go out to victims of -blam!-, but the people who were offended by the slogan were offended for the wrong reason. That's it, plain and simple. They took it to mean something that it didn't. And I will always oppose actions based on misinformation.
-I compared how you must feel to the feeling of success and domination a rapist feels when they know they aren't reported.
Yes, because responding to your post with a quote I happen to agree with totally compares to one of the most heinous crimes one can commit. That's such a leap of logic, I'm honestly kind of impressed by it.
P.S. Why make rapists out to be barbaric creatures when you're supporting them?
Because disagreeing with people who took offense to an ad slogan means you support -blam!-, rapists, -blam!- culture, etc. Again, what a leap of logic that is. I applaud you, miss. Bravo.

They were triggered. I know that anything triggers anybody nowadays, but -blam!- victims are people who I have a very high respect for. Society has already failed them and I believe that it's our duty, as people, to provide a safe environment for them.
-
Believe it or not, I don't disagree with you. But there's a difference between infantilizing and coddling victims, and empowering them and helping them move on from the trauma. The former creates a situation like this where the mere presence of words taken out of context is enough to generate outrage, and that is something that I cannot agree with. I support the latter wholeheartedly. Actually, one of our colleagues (if you want to call them that) here on the forums is a prime example of that. I won't give a name out of respect, but you might know who I'm talking about.

I don't like fast food either. It should probably be taken down too right?
