I play IG, but proxy one of my snipers as a vindicare, have a few grey knights terminators as well, and in due time I'll be working on giving myself some Skitarii Rangers on the field (and maybe a set of Onagers once I can shell out enough for a team of 3).

  • They can still be killed in easy ways depending on the situation, Like that time I found out bikes could climb walls...

  • I prefer my method, bombard them with defiler cannons xD

  • I've really only faced one defiler, but that was at the start of my first campaign with the group, and I was getting my shit kicked in so badly that they decided to give my army a shadowsword and a knight. You can guess what happened soon after.

  • Lol that Vindy is nasty. Before they took it out of the GK dex I took him in almost every game just for the OH SHIT factor. My buddy that played Blood Angels hated that guys guts back in 5th Ed. because he would always pick off his priests lol!

  • He's certainly come in handy in battles against chaos (except the game where I learned that bikes can go up walls) and that one objective based game against the Iron hands involving my command squad modified in a manner similar to how it will be in an upcoming campaign set in the same setting as the one we finished two weeks back (2 grey knight terminator Paladins replace the 4 vet guard) and smash-blam!-er. I can't help but wonder how him versus the many tau forces will work, if I end up with the horrible situation where I have to fight tau again (I've really only managed to kill riptides and their variants through usage of a shadowsword).

I like him because he is one of those units that gets into you enemies head just by being on the field, regardless if he actually kills anything or not. The Callidus is really good for that too. I usually drop her next to a heavy support like Devastators. This way you can distract a key unit and with any luck, wipe em out. The fact that they were twice as many points as your assassin is just a bonus. However there are times when she whiffs and dies in two turns of combat but hey, two turns is two turns less of Las Cannons getting rammed up my rear end lol I haven't faced Tau all too often to be honest, I usually fight marines, chaos, or Nids.

We have one player that a jack of many trades (but actively avoids tau), own that does harlequins, one that focuses on noise marines, one that plays 'nids, one that focuses on Necrons, one who doesn't really appear often and plays ultramarines, one that used to be tau but now focuses on making his dream space wolf team (and his Skitarii allies), and two people who focus on tau. I am going completely off memory there, but I should also mention that the leaders are the jack and one of the tau players.
