If you mean it is using a similar unoriginal premise? Then yes. But it will make a more interesting version of it I imagine.

The idea of Human Augmentation through "science" is not new, but I do think that Deus Ex weaved a number of different (existing) concepts together in a very creative and cohesive way, and thats original to them. For example, Johnny Mnemonic had some stuff like that, but it came out so cheesy and ridiculous.
