As if now, it looks like it's copying the basic plot setup, but who knows. Could be a vastly different (probably uninteresting) storyline.

Agreed. Its hard to tell where they are going with it, but they definitely did a facsimile of the backstory. Im actually happy to hear it, because maybe it will force Ubisoft to take Deus Ex development more seriously than they have in the previous sequels.
