You get 30 seconds with it from the moment you pick it up

before you had 15 seconds to pick it up otherwise you started losing time with the sword as it remained on the map a total of 45 seconds no matter what

Ohhhh gotcha. That explains why it's harder to get 3 downs now.

should actually be easier now as you are always guaranteed 30 seconds with sword. The only issue with triple down is making sure sword goes down near jump rock or center if you jump from center, and then taking down crota quickly of course. Some people were saying PS3 changed in that crota's shield regens after he goes down but it's always been that way for other platforms so for PS3 things may be slightly trickier now.

We would always blast the crap out of swordbearer as quick as possible to get three downs, and now it seemed shorter when we do that. Now I know why.
