In Pve it's relatively weak but it's a nightmare in pvp. It is a chase down granade and it's very very good at what it does.
It's use goes like this; throw at enemies they clear out trying to escape the bolt you charge in, running them down! If they stay and tank the damage they are half dead for you to kill, if they run you have cleared the area freeing space and potentially them showing their back to you.
It's a powerful tool bud you don't quite understand its functions.

No I get it and have adjusted my play style some with some good advice from other posters. I still feel it needs better lock on capabilities so it's not constantly getting wasted.
-
Lots of nades get wasted and this nade is borderline overpowered in doubles and skirmish! Throw a couple and watch as plp have to leg it or they will die.
-
Most nades still at least go off and at least function as an area denial weapon which means they are still useful not the axion bolt though.
-
No your wrong they are area denile in the way plp have to retreat or tank the damage. I've been using them recently with void Fang vestments and they are a powerful tool better than many other nades in the game.

I don't think you really understand what area denial means.
I don't think you really understand what area denial means.
Yes I do, i understand your concept but both achieve the same thing. Ok let's be particular yeah you can stand there where it lands and not move and yes you can move to the spot where it landed but that's at cost to your health. The granade is effective it's fine as it is and borderline overpowered in 2v2 and 3v3 play when more than one player has it.

It does no damage if doesn't get a lock. It will not prevent someone from going through a doorway or force them around it. Without a lock it simply sputters out and does nothing. Pretty much with how close you have to land it to get a lock you are better off with the sticky grenades and even if I miss It still doesn't get wasted. No you do not know what area denial means. If you did you would be trying to explain it the way you are.

Ok the area denile argument I will concede too as you are just going to keep going back to it. I think I see your point about an aoe holding plp off and denying a certain area. Look honestly don't see the issue I think you are arguing for arguments sake and because I've tried to explain area denile how I see it with that nade you are latching onto that to try and prove a point. It's a good nade and I'm gonna say it (" learn to play with it.")

I have learned to play it. I still feel it's lacking. So I conceded certain points I made in my original post in the edit. It should either have a wider radius to lock on or it should have a couple of second to obtain a lock so it not as easily wasted. A sticky will at least go off if you don't make a direct hit if someone runs through it they will still take damage whereas if axion bolt doesn't get a lock you could literally watch someone run directly through the particle effects without taking damage.
