All these Star Wars terms and references are drowning me because I have never played a star wars game or remember the movies so I'm as lost as a giraffe in Alaska but by the comments it seems something bad happened

Remember the metal camel looking things? That's an AT-AT. You used to be able to pilot them in battlefront 1 and 2. But if we look at it from a realistic perspective, they were slow, the guns were slow, and were often quickly destroyed (by aircraft). This sent them all the way to the back of the map, for some poor sod to drive them all they way back up. Hopefully this clears things up a bit.
