First off how old are you? I got my first tattoos at 18 and 19. One of them is so stupid and I can't stand it. I have a huge one on my back that I still haven't gotten shaded so isn't finished. And im indifferent to it so dont care to spend the money to finish it I have one other which was my first and the only one with actual personal meaning and I love that one. Just like to warn people it's true what they say that just because you like something now dosnt mean you want it forever.

I'm 23 and have planned on this tattoo being my first for a long time, and i want it for it's meaning over it's looks (although it does look pretty cool too. Lol). But ya, i've thought over long and hard and i definitely know what i want. The color is my only issue.

That's something I wish I had done, planning. Lol. The one I hate is a pink umbrella which was the start to Harry potter sleeve I decided I wanted. And one night all my friends were working and I just decided to go get it. So stupid everyone asks if it's from Mary Poppins lol. But anyway if you would prefer it in red I would go red. Even if you get it black you will still need to get touch ups, might as well get the color you wanted. If you decide it's too much upkeep they can always cover red with black, but once it's black there is really no going back.
