My guess is the Holy Trinity. There are many references and allegories to Christianity in Destiny, including the Ghosts with each Guardian possibly representing the Holy Ghost in each human being. If you look up illustrations of the Holy Trinity, you'll find many images with layouts similar to the Destiny symbol. But this is just my opinion. :)

  • Cool theory but its a wolfs face, 100% sure. Wolfs are a common theme in destiny and the number three is as well which would be why there are 4 points in the symbol, the outer points being the guardians or fireteam if you would like and the inner one being the traveler or speaker or maybe a ghost? The religious idea is neat but I doubt they would have religion in the symbol of the last people on earth, I mean hey the apocalypse just happened let's start praying to the god that didn't save us, sounds good chief. However I doubt the symbol means much more than that a symbol. It's just there to say the guardians are here.

  • That makes a lot of sense. If you look up holy spirit on images it shows pictures of a dove. So the ball in the middle is sort of like the head, the two parts that stick out on the sides are the wings, and the bottom part is the feet.

  • I'm pretty sure Bungie is religious belief developer. Same with the old halo trilogy. Master chief/arbiter were the saviors to each of their races, Cortana as a Holy Spirit, the alien who had a covenant built upon faith and tradition. There were a lot of straight forward and subtle hints of Christianity and Greek mythology, but there is waaaay to much to list. Just look it up and see all the comparisons.
