I had the same problem! But I backed out of the nightfall and decided to stay away from the top of the rock. After that everything was smooth.

Yeah what I recommend is simply find a new spot. You know the spot where you find a small group of goblins next to the bridge? That's where I was it's a pretty good spot. Just be aware when wave 2 shows up your going to have hobgoblins to your left.

Yeah - tried that the second time and Dregs "magically" teleported behind me. I am hoping that was a one off glitch and not the norm. Third time I did the snipe and leave one enemy. That worked.

Mmmm odd I had no enemies teleporting behind me? Perhaps it was maybe lag? Well hey if you found a new strategy that works then good for you.
