At this point in history, I don't trust my country and many nations don't trust us either. We are constantly in everyone's business, yet we refuse to deal with the problems in our own backyard. One example would be completely ignoring the Mexican Drug Cartels, while we send troops to the Ukraine to train their soldiers even though Germany and France advised us not to. I am ashamed to call myself an American.

Edited by DeadSoul103: 4/22/2015 2:11:35 PMThe funny thing is if the U.S.A. plays the pull out game, and we were to stop helping countries that we currently assist. A crap load of Europeans, some Asian countries, etc. Would be begging us for forgiveness. CheckM8 Theists. Discuss.

That is very true. I think that we should stop subsidizing our military might to foreign countries. And then there are countries like Germany and Japan.... and why dafuq are we still there?

Your government isn't your nation. Being loyal and proud of your nation does not mean being loyal and proud of its government.

I don't understand how anybody could be proud of a nation. I understand how someone could be proud of the constitution, but nation? That's just a word for a piece of land.

Edited by Ricochet 049: 4/22/2015 8:51:58 AMNo. A nation consists of people history and culture. You can take pride in just about anything, but being part of something bigger like a legacy or generations of ideals and culture is something grand regardless of pride. A government is founded to protect these things. If the government does defend these ideals it's considered bad much like how a car that doesn't run is considered bad.

I love my land I love my waters. And enjoy our people. I hate our government.

The entire planet is land and water. And the people here are okay, depending on what area you're in...

I live in the south, we have racists but some are actually nice people with families.

No, America is ashamed of you

Nothing worse than a hive-minded loyalist

I love being an American, I think this a fantastic country to live in. If you're ashamed to be an American what's stopping you from applying for citizenship in another country. Then you wouldn't have to live here and look down upon yourself.

Edited by Cocaine Pancakes: 4/22/2015 8:11:59 AMThere's nothing special about a country that has the same freedoms as over 30 other nations. I'm ashamed because the people elected shit officials into office. I'm not going to move anytime soon because of family, but I'm seriously considering it.

Why is your family here?
-
Because they were born here.
-
Why do they stay? Do they share your beliefs? Have you gotten to see the true beauty of our land?
