No matter how many satire tags I see on these posts, they just don't seem like satire...

  • Just accept that satire has come to be used, and accepted, by the vast majority of the community here in a way that may not fit the dictionary definition of the word.

  • How does this not fit the definition?

  • I'm not arguing that point. I'm just saying that everyone crying "this isn't technically true satire!" needs to chill out.

  • And that makes it ok? Let's just change the definition of words because we don't actually mean that but want to use it anyway, sounds like a great idea.

  • You realize that language is fluid right? Just look at how Merriam Webster recently changed the definition of "literally".

Reminds me of "You keep using that word, but I don't think it means what you think it means" The problem that I have are the ones who use the satire tag as an excuse to post their raged filled rants - such as the OP. This OP's topic comes across as more surly than satire - as well as most of the threads that (in)correctly use the satire tag or even the sarcasm tag.
