What are you're thoughts on The Book of Mormon play? My aunt & uncle are Mormons & they aren't happy about it. They were even less happy when I said it was one of the funniest things I've seen & suggested they go see it.

LOL sounds like me, isn't it totally bogus?

I haven't seen the play and don't plan to. From what I've heard, it's inaccurate, and was designed to make fun of us.

Edited by xBUGATTIx: 4/16/2015 4:08:06 AMwell yeah it wasn't supposed to be accurate. it's from the people who make from of everyone & everything imaginable. (Mormons aren't the only ones that get made fun of in the show but they certainly do.) I was just curious b/c some people are more sensitive to that thing than others. Ex: I'm a Jew & have no problem with Jew jokes & have been known to make a few myself, but my cousin gets pretty pissed at that stuff. edit: btw the church of lds advertised the actual book of mormon in the playbill which I thought was very big of them to recognize it as humor & kinda go with it. most religious orginzations wouldn't do that, they'd just be pissed.

Edited by Jihhan: 11/16/2015 5:48:16 AMYeah they used the rights to the name "book of Mormon" (since they have the legal right to do so) to also put things like "now that you have seen the play, would you like to know the real book of Mormon?" or something like that, they explained to us that that wasn't a seal or approval from the Church, but rather a way of living "the law of the land" by exercising their right, and also many people got curious enough to investigate more and ended up joining the Church :). I'm paraphrasing of course.
