Played Halo since the the begining, still preordering Halo 5. I want my Legendary Edition and Dobbins talking out of his ass for an hour won't stop that. But heres another good reason, did you play the Beta? Im guessing no, but if you did you would have felt like you were playing the same 2 maps cut stright from a $60 game you could have gone and bought right then. It felt like a demo, not a beta. It felt complete and the servers were perfectly functional. All of that an entire year before the game launches? Thats enough for me to have faith in 343 and to preorder.
Edit: Im really geting sick of the whole #savemccfirst thing, if you go play the game and stoped bitching, you'd see that it runs great.

Edited by Logfish111: 4/14/2015 2:34:03 PMYou clearly haven't had time to watch the video, hence why you brought up the part about the game working fine. The population is dead, that is the problem. Personally insulting the guy who made the argument before even trying to refute his argument means you have pretty much lost the debate already.
-
The game itself runs great. Is the population low? Yes, but thats not a technical problem. It stems from technical problems, yes, but its not one itself. No, i dident take the time to watch the video, because ive already seen it.
-
erm, 343 have killed the population of MCC. I don't care whether it is a technical problem or not, I want it rectified.
-
The only people that can fix it are players, like you and me. Stop complaining, go play it, boom one more player added to the population. 343 cant fix the population, they cant compel people to play the MCC, no one can. In fact, people like Dobbins, yourself and many others spreading hate about Halo are counter productive to the thing you all say you so despretely want. You want to fix the population base? Spread the word that the games fixed, tell people to come play it. Dont keep talking about the one or two things wrong with it, talk about the twenty things that are good about it. Then the player base will come back.
-
343 cant fix the population, they cant compel people to play the MCC,
wut It's almost as if they aren't the devs or something. It is their responsibility to do so. Plus I already explained how they could do that.

Edited by MetaTerminator: 4/14/2015 3:08:46 PM
I already explained how they could do that.
Where exactly? Not in your main post, not in your responses to me. Its also funny thats the part you dont understand, and you cant even comment on my given way to fix it. Edit: dumb formatting

Oh yeh, sorry I got mixed up with another post. They need free DLC and they need to put the game on sale. Also, they need to manage the playlist rotations better, it's just so lazily done. They should have a special playlist every weekend like in H3. Where are grifball and Infection? Those were always popular, especially among casuals and you can use that to help them get back into the game. Also, there are plenty of frustrating glitches that are putting people off and these need to be fixed. They also need to address the quitting problem. All in all, I wouldn't say they have made much effort here whatsoever. MCC is a thing of the past to them, they've moved on to H5, it's sad and depressing.
-
Then start spreading the message to the community that MCC has been fixed. Go to the forums and tell everyone who gave up that MCC is playable now; if you truly, honestly care about Halo and truly want it fixed, then you will stop shitting on 343i for population count when they can't personally change this number, and will instead start trying to actually fix the problem, instead of complaining about it. Your complete lack of any attempt to spread the word that MCC is fixed is proof that your real motivation is to hate 343i, not save Halo.
-
Do you want me to rent out a blimp and write 'MCC is fixed' on it or something? I don't know who I could possibly tell who doesn't already know that MCC is fixed. 343 are the developers and it is up to them to attract people back to the game. And I don't know why people keep saying it's impossible to do this when I just gave many ideas that would help.
-
Of the suggestions you made: They ARE implementing a quitting penalty, They ARE releasing free DLC in the form of ODST and a free map and a month of free Live, adding in weekend special playlists is a good idea but won't matter if people still think the game is broken, and they have another update coming up to address more glitches and problems. MCC isn't a "thing of the past" for 343i because 343i has a dedicated team working on the MCC. They're not a singular entity, they have a team maintaining matchmaking and support for MCC and the rest of the studio is working on Halo 5. That's how game devs work. And putting the game on sale isn't their decision.
-
Quitting penalty isn't the way to go imo. They need to ask themselves why people are quitting and then address these problems. One of the big problems is that the skill matching system is not working correctly, making teams very unbalanced, causing people to quit. So they need to fix the matching system, granted that is difficult with an already low population. I'm sorry but that DLC is not going to cut it. How is a campaign and a free month of xbl going to get people back into MM? Then you have Relic which is a shitty map that no one ever wanted. We need actual free map packs, preferably using Midship, Beaver Creek and Headlong as a priority.
343i has a dedicated team working on the MCC.
It's not showing at all. Either there isn't enough people or the team on it are terrible at their jobs, probably a B team tbh.
-
People have been quitting from Halo games at an unhealthy rate since the days of Halo 2; that will always be a problem, and there will always be threads online complaining about it, no matter how fair the matchmaking actually is. The problem is with the people as much as it may be with the matchmaking. You said they should add free DLC. And they are. And just saying "Relic is bad because I said so" doesn't disprove the point; it is literally their job to listen to fan requests and feedback and look at the data. How arrogant must one be to think they know more than the dev studio who has the data on what map people want? Seeing as how Relic always gets voted whenever it comes up in BTB, I would take a wild guess and say people seem to like that map. And their work isn't showing? I must have imagined the last three months of flawless matchmaking then.
-
I disagree. Quitting in MCC is especially rampant. I think this may also partly be due to the fact that there is a wide variety of games to choose from, therefore some people are always gonna be pissed at the end result. Kind of a difficult issue to resolve I would say, they're probably gonna have to condense the playlists significantly. There is just no way that people would prefer to have a map like Relic over a map like Headlong. I've never seen anyone clamouring for Relic on the forums. Using data from votes would be misleading so I hope they aren't doing that. I firmly believe they have chosen it because it is such an extremely easy map to remake, literally just an island with a tower on it. 343 demonstrating their laziness.
And their work isn't showing? I must have imagined the last three months of flawless matchmaking then.
Lol at 3 months. It has been working well since the last patch on the 3rd of March, almost a month and a half. The use of the word 'flawless' is also completely retarded. MCC still has many glitches which need attention. As i said we haven't had a patch in a month and a half. Where is this team?
-
I've never pre ordered, don't see a reason to start now. I'll watch the video later.

True that. Agreed.
