As others have said, Arena is likely some twist on a Horde mode. Which honestly could be interesting if done correctly. I'm thinking the challenge arenas in Borderlands 2 here as an example.
Hoping it will have matchmaking if that's the case.
I know folks wanted another raid, which I can understand, but let's wait for details before everyone freaks out. It could be fun and the rewards could "possibly" be good. Cautiously optimistic.

Of course, it will have 'endgame' gear, and finally all the people complaining about not being able to do a raid to get endgame gear/content will now be able to in the 3 man arena instead. That is their intention...

Yeah, I was kinda psyched about a horde-style mode, if you could have six guardians working together. But only three? That just seems like a lazy version of a strike... (here's to hoping I'm wrong and its something innovative though.)
