5 kills doesn't necessarily mean he sucks. I speed run strikes all the time and get only kills for sections where they are required, and still get very little. Anyway, if you understood the RNG system you would realize skill doesn't matter and you would be better off speed running strikes, skipping parts that aren't important. And just so you know, I got the Gjallarhorn from a Nightfall where I got 8 kills. Ha.
