Weapons with the <I> represent the first DLC mark. Only people with the Crotas End DLC can use these weapons. When House of Wolves come out there will be a <II> on some of the new weapons.

The DLC is not required to use these items.

It is not only for new dlc items, some old items were given a remake and bear the same mark. You should be able to use those.
