In my opinion it seem the drop rate for one item increase every time you get it. Like for me no exotic. Bought the last word. Than got it nightfall and etcetera. But after that I got another exotic. Same effect happen. I think to get the gear you actually want you gotta "unlock it" first

This so damn much! I totally feel like exotics you gain will tend to fall into your lap more frequently. Got two Ghorns last week. Two Icebreakers this week. At one point got three truths to add to the one i already had. And two fourth horsemen. O.o they all show up around the same time.

Yeah, there's nothing special about exotics anymore, which is really sad.
